Professor Gianluca Gambogi Appointed Vice-Rector for Central Italy

The Prisca Sapientia Institute is pleased to announce the appointment of Professor Gianluca Gambogi as Vice-Rector for Central Italy, effective 1 February 2026.

At the same time, Professor Gambogi has been entrusted with the teaching appointment for the course Criminal Legislation for the Protection of Artistic Heritage in Italy and Europe, part of the Institute’s academic offering dedicated to advanced studies in criminal law relating to the protection of cultural heritage and artistic assets, from both a national and European perspective.

This appointment forms part of the Prisca Sapientia Institute’s broader academic strategy aimed at strengthening dialogue between criminal law, the protection of public and cultural heritage, and the European legal framework. The course assigned to Professor Gambogi focuses in particular on crimes against cultural property, the criminal protection of public finances, the relationship between domestic legal systems and European Union law, as well as recent legislative and case-law developments in this field.

Professor Gianluca Gambogi, a Supreme Court lawyer and Full Professor of Law, has an outstanding academic and professional profile. He is the author of numerous monographs and an extensive body of scholarly publications in leading legal journals, with a particular focus on criminal tax law, economic criminal law, and forensic ethics. Alongside his academic activity, he has held and continues to hold significant institutional and advanced training positions.

In his role as Vice-Rector for Central Italy, Professor Gambogi will contribute to the coordination of the Institute’s academic and institutional activities in the region, promoting research initiatives, advanced education programmes, and scientific cooperation in line with the international mission of the Prisca Sapientia Institute.
